Beginner Group

(Ages 8 & Under & New 9-12-Year-Olds)

The Beginner Group is designed for young swimmers (ages 8 & under) and new year-round swimmers (ages 9-12) who are developing their skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our program focuses on building confidence in the water, learning proper technique in all four strokes, and preparing swimmers for local competitions.

Practice Schedule

🕒 Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Beginner Training Phases

Phase 1:

Water Confidence & Fundamentals

  • Learning to float, kick, and glide in the water
  • Basic introduction to Freestyle and Backstroke
  • Emphasis on fun, safety, and comfort in the pool

Phase 2:

Stroke Development & Coordination

  • Introduction to Breaststroke and Butterfly fundamentals
  • Practicing proper breathing techniques and body position
  • Improving coordination and stamina with structured workouts

Phase 3:

Race Readiness & First Competitions

  • Learning starts, turns, and finishes
  • Understanding how swim meets work
  • Participating in low-pressure competitions
